Poll: Favorite starter trio

Straightforward question. Go!

As far as I'm concerned, it's 4 > 3 > 1 > 2 > 5 all the way. 3 and 4 are all-around very solid, but I'd give 4 a slight edge here. 1 is decent, though mostly carried by Venusaur, and Feraligatr is 2's lone saving grace. As far as gen 5 goes... well, the horse has been dead for a long time. Hopefully Gamefreak gets a clue and makes the gen 6 starters good.

Final Fantasy 6 broken into itty bitty pieces

Yeah, second FF6-related post today. Gee, I wonder which game ol' Flake has been playing lately? Anyway, this just might be the most entertaining thing I've ever seen about this game, which says a lot considering how much I love it to begin with. Of course you need to have played the game before to understand what's going on, but that goes without saying.

One thing I want to point out is just how much time must've gone into all this experimentation, and then doing it all over again just to show it off, save states or not. That's impressive.

Canada changes name to "Harper Canada"

At least according to a news release from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. I always knew the guy was a megalomaniac, but this is the icing on the cake.

The sad thing is that, as the article points out, government news releases have actually been titled "Harper Government" instead of "Government of Canada" for the last three years. (Imagine if any US president tried that crap. Fox News/MSNBC would have something to talk about until the end of the world.) So I wouldn't put it past him to try and rebrand the country, and maybe have his own face carved on Percé Rock, Mount Rushmore style.

A bad habit of mine...

...is finding stuff way more funny than it actually is. Oh well, it might be good for a chuckle or two on your end too.

The weirdest song lyric censorship yet

Sure, sometimes some radio stations will censor swear words and such, which is understandable, but I was shocked to learn that "Kalashnikov" was also apparently a no-no. Really? You're really expecting the average Joe to know who Mikhail Kalashnikov is to begin with? But wait, it gets worse. The really fun part is what they replace it with - "Kalishnikov". Yep, they think mentioning the inventor of the AK-47 in a song is worth censoring, but then they only change a vowel and call it a day. Censorship is really messed up sometimes, isn't it?

Take a look at the logo for the next Wi-Fi tournament.

I am really, really happy that X and Y have been announced now. Can you imagine the carnage the Hoenn fanboys would've unleashed otherwised

Megaman marathon extended

As of this writing, it's scheduled to last until 2 PM Eastern tomorrow (Tuesday), though I can pretty much guarantee it'll be pushed to the extreme limit of 7 PM. So feel free to drop by anytime until then!

What this means, though, is that you shouldn't expect any new videos from me until at least Wednesday, so there's no need to frantically refresh your subscription inbox!

Edit: Yep, this ends at 7 PM tomorrow.

Edit 2: Or not. Man, these auctions... By the way, no video tomorrow (Wednesday) either, especially since it seems all we're getting from CoroCoro this month is the Unnerve + Hurricane Mewtwo event.

Bulbagarden's fakemon litmus test

From their Twitter:

How to check if a "newly announced Pokémon" is real or a hoax: If there's no Japanese fanart of it on Pixiv within 5 minutes, it's fake

It's funny because it's true. Spread the word!

The truth about the internet

Something good coming out of Newgrounds? Of course it can't do any better than four stars out of five, whereas these overly clichéd haunted house "games" chock full of jump scares and walls of text can beat that any time.

Thanks to dekupride for the tip.

Unpopular opinion time

Megaman 6 and 9 have better soundtracks than 2.

Go ahead, verbally assault me for not thinking MM2 Wily stage 1 is the best thing ever.

Incoming Megaman marathon!

I know I already mentioned this in a video, but another reminder is in order now that we're almost there. See that image up top? Click on it, and you're there. The fun begins on March 8 at 7 PM Eastern, 6 PM Central, 4 PM Pacific, midnight universal time (that's the UK time zone for the record), etc. It'll last 72 hours, as is usually the case. Nonetheless, you can still donate right now, if you're interested.

I still haven't seen gaming or commentating schedules though, so if you're looking forward to a particular game I have no info to give you, unfortunately. Maybe as we draw closer to the start... Also, no LP announcement this time, since I've barely done any Star Road thus far. There WILL be one during the Final Fantasy marathon, though, and I've got something special planned for that...

Also, this is the single best piece of promotion for a marathon that I've ever seen. Almost makes you wonder what's the point of promoting in the first place if no one can even come close to this.

Makes me wonder, though, why make such a huge deal out of Air Man? Even in non-pussy mode he's still one of the easiest Robot Masters to beat with the Mega Buster. In fact, I'd go as far as to say I think he's one of those few Robot Masters who's harder to beat with their weakness than with the Mega Buster (a dubious honor he shares with Tengu Man, at the very least).
